The Sprout team was excited to join hands with our friends from MISI Community Solutions for a wonderful day of volunteering at the SSIP Food Closet in South Sacramento on Tuesday, September 16. Together, both teams rolled up their sleeves to pack and share food with families who needed a little extra help.

Our volunteers from Sprout and MISI worked side by side, taking on important tasks like setting up, handing out food, helping guests, and cleaning up afterward. It was a true team effort and a great reminder of how much we can accomplish when we come together to support our neighbors—especially those facing tough times like food insecurity and homelessness.

About SSIP Food Closet

The SSIP Food Closet has been a cornerstone of the community since 1969. Thanks to the incredible support from seven faith-based congregations, the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services, local grocery stores, Table Farm, and dedicated volunteers, they’re able to provide meals for 200-300 people every single day.

Food insecurity is still a big challenge here in Sacramento, but through partnerships like this, Sprout is committed to building stronger community ties and making a real difference for those who need it most..

We’re so grateful for the opportunity to work alongside the amazing MISI team and SSIP volunteers. Sharing this experience, learning from one another, and giving back together makes us even more hopeful for the future. As volunteer teams united by a common cause, we’re dedicated to helping build a healthier, more supportive Sacramento for everyone.
